Founder and Managing Partner Mr. Lelon has
acquired twenty-four businesses similar in size, scope, and ownership as
those targeted by Kamylon’s LargeLocal™ fund. During his fifteen
year career as a private equity professional, Mr. Lelon has been involved in
the investment of $300 million of equity in more than thirty-five businesses.
Prior to
founding Kamylon™, Mr. Lelon was a General Partner and Executive Vice
President of Falconhead Capital, a New York based, private equity firm
investing in sports, leisure and lifestyle industries, with $215 million of
capital under management. He joined Falconhead, manager of the Sports
Capital Funds, shortly after its formation and assisted in the raising of its
first fund. Falconhead is partnered with IMG the world’s largest,
independent sports marketing company. Mr. Lelon was recruited to
Falconhead in part to invest at the nexus of media and sports, a strategy
that culminated in the launch of ESPN Classic Europe, a joint venture with
ESPN/Disney. As a member of the firm’s Investment Committee, he led or
contributed significantly to each of the firm’s investments serving on
the boards of all Falconhead portfolio companies during his tenure. Before joining
Falconhead, Mr. Lelon was a Principal at Veronis, Suhler, Stevenson, a $2.0
billion private equity firm and merchant bank dedicated to the media,
communications, and information industries. Mr. Lelon began his private
equity career with Summit Partners in Mr. Lelon
graduated cum laude with an A.B. from General Partner Mr. Spencer is the Chairman of Label World, a Kamylon portfolio
company, where he has driven a series of successful top and bottom line
improvement initiatives to strengthen the performance and prospects for the
company. He has over twenty years of experience as a general
manager and business consultant. He has led several businesses ranging from
small service businesses to a $750 million division of a Fortune 500
company. Prior to Kamylon, Mr. Spencer was a Principal with the George
Group, a consulting firm specializing in operations strategy,
operational improvement (Lean Six Sigma), business simplification and
accelerating the new product/service development process. He was a practice
leader and contributor to the books Conquering Complexity in Your Business
and Fast Innovation (that describes how to accelerate the innovation
and product or service development process). Mr. Spencer was an executive with Capital One, where he led one of the
firm’s most profitable credit card businesses. There he revamped the business
unit’s strategy and marketing plan, implemented a series of critical
infrastructure improvements, growing the business by over 50%. Mr.
Spencer then went on to lead Capital One’s direct mail and outbound
telemarketing operations supporting all of the credit card businesses. There,
his team drove lean process improvement initiatives cutting
solicitation cycle time by 75% and orchestrated the execution of 1,000 direct
mail solicitations annually delivering almost one billion mail pieces and
placing 300 million telemarketing calls annually. Mr. Spencer was a consultant with McKinsey & Company where he
specialized in designing and implementing broad-based performance improvement
programs across a range of industries. At McKinsey, Mr. Spencer
co-led both the lean manufacturing and supply chain management practices
and helped dozens of general managers drive substantial top and bottom line
performance improvement. Mr. Spencer worked as a manufacturing engineer and management trainee
at the Rover Group – the largest indigenous automaker in the Mr. Spencer holds
a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with First Class Honors
from the Operating Partner Todd Latouf has more than eighteen years
of management and leadership experience contributing to the improved
performance and profitability of automotive parts, plastic, metal, and tool
manufacturing companies. Prior to joining Kamylon, Mr. Latouf
served as President and Chief Restructuring Officer of Hallmark Technologies,
a Canadian based automotive manufacturer of precision tooling and plastic
parts. Before Hallmark, Mr. Latouf was employed as General Manager of North
American Modular Operations for Magna International, a leading global
supplier of technologically-advanced automotive systems. Previous to becoming
General Manager, Mr. Latouf was a key player in the growth at Magna Closures,
a Magna International company which provides door power closures, window and
latching systems, handle assemblies and drive controls to the global
automotive industry. In addition, Mr. Latouf held several senior leadership
positions at Magna International including Director of Program Management and
General Manager of the Moltrol Division. In addition, Mr. Latouf enjoyed
early career success as a Plant Manager at Gecamex Corporation. Mr. Latouf holds a Bachelor of Science in
Mechanical Engineering from Operating Partner For eighteen years, Robert J. Mohri has
been engaged in general management and in the implementation of business
processes and financial systems. Prior to joining Kamylon, Mr. Mohri
served as Vice President of Finance & CFO of Hallmark Technologies, a
Canadian based automotive manufacturer of precision tooling and plastic
parts. Before Hallmark, Mr. Mohri held senior financial positions at major
Canadian firms: Onex’s Radian Communications, a manufacturer and
constructor of communication towers and related equipment; Starcon
Corporation, an automotive holding company with investment in metal working,
tool and die and rubber products; Lafarge Canada Inc., largest Canadian
supplier of concrete, cement and aggregates; Innocon, a concrete supplier;
and Sobeys Canada Inc., an integrated grocery retailer. Mr. Mohri holds an Honors Bachelor of
Commerce in Finance and Accounting from Laurentian University, Director of Kamylon Performance Improvement Meeta brings to Kamylon over 25 years of
cross functional leadership experience ranging from process engineering,
investment evaluation, general management, and consulting to private equity
backed portfolio firms and major non-profits Meeta started her professional career with
a BS in Chemical Engineering from MIT and a MBA in Finance from Meeta later joined General Electric where
she led a number of continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing, new product
introduction and supply chain management. Meeta later served as General Manager of
GE Appliances’ Range Products, a $1 Billion division with multiple manufacturing
plants and 2000 employees, where she helped double operating income of over a two
year period. After GE, Meeta became CEO of Signature
Brands (Mr Coffee and other brands), a $280 million private equity backed
consumer products firm At Signature Meeta drove significant operations and top line
initiatives which led to an eventual sale of the firm to Sunbeam Corporation. Most recently, Meeta has held key
leadership roles in two non-profit organizations, the World Wildlife Fund of consulting services to a variety of
private equity portfolio firms and non-profit boards. Director of Human Resources and Talent Management Tom brings over 20 years experience in
driving strategic HR initiatives across a variety of businesses from start-up entities to
global publicly traded firms. In his role, Tom will lead our efforts in building
Kamylon’s talent management system with a particular emphasis on attracting, developing and
retaining world class talent throughout Kamylon and its portfolio companies.
Tom will also be a resource to portfolio companies for advice and counsel on
HR and talent management matters and will assist in establishing best HR
practices throughout the firm and supporting HR related due diligence in our investment
process. Most recently, Tom led the staffing and
leadership function at Investment Technology Group, a leading global provider of
equity trading products and services for the institutional investment markets. Prior to ITG, Tom was Director of Global
Staffing and Development for Thermo Electron Corporation and built a global
talent acquisition, development and succession planning function to support the
firm’s evolution from many disparate operating units to an integrated
operating company. Tom has also held a number of strategic
HR roles at Nortel Networks, focusing largely on building high performing
teams across the R&D, Manufacturing, Sales and Service functions. Tom earned his BA at Principal Mr. Sopp joined Kamylon Capital in
2007. During his twelve years in the
private equity industry, Mr. Sopp has invested in and acquired businesses
that are similar in size and ownership to those targeted by Kamylon’s
LargeLocal™ fund. Prior to Kamylon, Mr. Sopp was a
Principal with Capital Resource Partners, a private capital firm that invests
preferred equity and subordinated debt into later-stage growth, buyout and
recapitalization transactions. He
originated and closed investments for the firm in the business and
information services, software and telecommunications services
verticals. Mr. Sopp contacted and
analyzed more than 1,000 companies while at Capital Resource Partners. These investigations resulted in the
investment of $140 million of capital in seven companies, where he played an
active role as a board member post-transaction. In addition, Mr. Sopp assisted in the
raising of Capital Resource Partners’ fifth fund in 2003. Before joining Capital Resource Partners,
Mr. Sopp was an Associate with HarbourVest Partners, a global private equity
firm with more than $20.0 billion of assets under management. He identified, analyzed and recommended
high growth transaction opportunities that resulted in the investment of
approximately $70 million of equity in nine companies competing in the
software, data communications, telecommunications and financial services
industries. Prior to HarbourVest, Mr. Sopp was an
Analyst with ABS Capital Partners, a private equity firm with more than $1.5
billion of assets under management in the business services, healthcare,
media and communications, software and industrial growth industries. As an Analyst, he managed the due diligence
processes that resulted in the investment of more than $80 million of equity
in ten companies. Mr. Sopp holds a Bachelor of Science in
Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Principal Mr. Sinnett is responsible for the
evaluation and execution of investments at Kamylon. He has played a key
role in designing the firm’s origination process and building its
origination team. Prior to joining Kamylon, Mr. Sinnett
position traded his own capital in equities and equity derivatives. His
event-driven strategy successfully exploited security price movements caused
by macroeconomic and geopolitical factors. Earlier in his career, he
was a sales executive with both AT&T and Qwest Communications, where he
managed a $15 million annual revenue portfolio of Fortune 500 and large
privately held firms. Additionally, Mr. Sinnett worked with
Kamylon Capital as a Summer Associate and joined the firm after completing
business school. Mr. Sinnett holds a Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration from Associate Principal Mr. Paré is
responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investments in
LargeLocal™
businesses. Prior to joining Kamylon,
Mr. Paré was a manager in the Global Supply Chain group at Houghton Mifflin
company, where he helped design and implement the company’s outsourcing
strategy, both domestically and offshore.
Before Houghton Mifflin, Mr. Paré worked as a Senior Associate at BancBoston
Capital, the multi-strategy private equity investing arm of FleetBoston
Financial with $4.5 billion of assets under management. At BancBoston Capital, Mr. Paré focused on
buyout equity and mezzanine debt investments ranging on average from $5 to 20
million in middle market companies, with a particular focus on transactions
in the restaurant industry. Previously, Mr. Paré was an Associate Analyst in Advest’s
Specialty Retailing and Consumer Products group, performing sell-side
research on equities in the automotive aftermarket and the licensed
collectible spaces. Prior to Advest, Mr. Paré spent several years at BankBoston,
where he helped form a specialized lending group
focusing on acquisition finance and equity-sponsored transactions in the automotive
industry. Mr. Paré
served as a portfolio manager specializing in highly leveraged consolidators
in the OEM supplier segment. Mr. Paré
graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics
and Economics from Middlebury College and holds an M.B.A. from Tuck School at
Dartmouth where he was a research fellow at the school’s Center for
Private Equity and
Entrepreneurship. Associate Principal Mr.
Brauer’s primary responsibilities at Kamylon are the evaluation and
execution of investment opportunities. Immediately prior to joining Kamylon,
Mr. Brauer worked in the Leveraged Buyout Group of Morgenthaler Partners, a
middle-market private equity firm with $2.9B assets under management. While there he worked on transactions in industries ranging from highly engineered industrial equipment to information technology services. Previously, Mr.
Brauer was an Associate Consultant in the Private Equity and Strategy and
Operations Groups of Bain & Company. As a member of the Private Equity
Group, Mr. Brauer conducted strategic due diligence for private equity firms,
hedge funds and strategic buyers across various industries. While in the
Strategy and Operations Group, he was responsible for analysis and managing
client relationships on engagements for Fortune 1000 companies. Prior to his
tenure at Bain & Company, Mr. Brauer served as an Officer in the United
States Marine Corps for 4 years, culminating in a combat tour in support of
Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mr. Brauer
holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colgate University and an M.B.A.
from Harvard Business School. Senior Associate and Director of Origination Since joining
Kamylon, Mr. Lee has participated in the execution of two of Kamylon’s
investments. In addition, Mr. Lee has evaluated and maintained relationships
with dozens of companies across a wide range of industries. Mr. Lee
possesses a diverse range of skills and entrepreneurial experiences. Upon completing his high school education,
Mr. Lee signed a developmental contract as a recording artist and as a
songwriter for a Nashville music publishing company. This placed him in roles spanning from
guitarist on sessions in Nashville recording studios to serving in a
production and engineering capacity which earned him a platinum-selling album
credit. His music career culminated
with the founding of “Lucky Black, Inc,” which served a
supporting role to the “Willie Nelson & Friends” tour. Mr. Lee’s desire for further
education led him to pursue higher learning at the University of Georgia,
where he majored in Finance. Prior to
joining Kamylon, Mr. Lee served as a financial consultant to the founder of a
Southeastern-based “LargeLocal” franchise during the
company’s launch and initial expansion phase. Formerly, Mr. Lee served under the
president of Carson Advisory, a member firm of the Raymond James Financial
Services network. A summa cum laude in Finance, Mr. Lee
earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Terry School of
Business at the University of Georgia. Origination Associate Mr. Hayes joined Kamylon in 2009. Prior
to Kamylon, he was an analyst at J.P. Morgan where he focused on asset backed
securities transactions. Mr. Hayes also interned at J.P.Morgan, where he
gained exposure to both the distressed debt and securitized products trading
desks. Mr. Hayes graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration from Georgetown University. Origination Associate Mr. Henry joined Kamylon in 2009. Prior to Kamylon, Mr. Henry was an Analyst at CRT Investment Banking, where he contributed to assignments ranging from M&A financing to corporate restructuring across a number of industries. Previously, Mr. Henry interned at Barclays Capital, where he gained exposure to the foreign exchange and CDO trading desks.
Mr. Henry graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Carroll School of Management.. Origination Associate Mr. Sheridan joined Kamylon in
2008. Prior to Kamylon, he was a summer analyst at Ziff
Brothers Investments, where he covered stocks in the retail sector. Mr.
Sheridan interned at the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation
in the U. S. Department of State, where he monitored cables on the illicit
smuggling of radioactive materials, and with Mayor Michael Bloomberg's 2005
re-election campaign. Mr. Sheridan graduated with a Bachelor of
Arts in history from Dartmouth College. ADMINISTRATION Information Technology Systems Administrator Mr. Mirabito
joined Kamylon in 2006. He brings to Kamylon a variety of technical
expertise, including network administration, software and database
development, and desktop support. Before joining Kamylon, Mr. Mirabito was a
computer technician and consultant for an IT outsourcing company. Office Administrator Prior to
joining Kamylon Capital in 2007, Ms. Auld held positions in office administration
with Bowdoin Construction Corporation, Home Depot USA, Inc. and Ludlow
Laminating & Coating. |
