CHARLES T. LELON
Founder and Managing Partner
Mr. Lelon is responsible for Kamylon’s first fundraise and the makeup of the
firm’s team, values, mission and culture. During his twenty year career as a
private equity professional, Mr. Lelon has been involved in the investment of
over $350 million of equity in more than forty businesses.
Prior to founding Kamylon, Mr. Lelon was a General Partner and Executive Vice
President of Falconhead Capital, a New York based, private equity firm investing
in sports, leisure and lifestyle industries, with $215 million of capital under
management. He joined Falconhead, manager of the Sports Capital Funds, shortly
after its formation and assisted in the raising of its first fund. Falconhead is
partnered with IMG the world’s largest, independent sports marketing company.
Mr. Lelon was recruited to Falconhead in part to invest at the nexus of media
and sports, a strategy that culminated in the launch of ESPN Classic Europe, a
joint venture with ESPN/Disney. As a member of the firm’s Investment Committee,
he led or contributed significantly to each of the firm’s investments serving on
the boards of all Falconhead portfolio companies during his tenure.
Before joining Falconhead, Mr. Lelon was a Principal at Veronis, Suhler,
Stevenson, a $2.0 billion private equity firm and merchant bank dedicated to the
media, communications, and information industries. Mr. Lelon began his private
equity career with Summit Partners in Boston, a leading private equity firm,
with more than $5.5 billion of capital under management.
Mr. Lelon graduated cum laude with an A.B. from Harvard College, holds an M.T.S.
from Harvard Divinity School and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
RICHARD A. SPENCER
General Partner
Mr. Spencer leads Kamylon’s portfolio management efforts
where, on a day-to-day basis, he and his team of Kamylon Operating Partners help
drive performance improvement initiatives at Kamylon’s portfolio companies. Mr.
Spencer served as interim C.E.O. of Kamylon’s first portfolio company and
has twenty five years of experience as a general manager and business consultant.
He has led several businesses ranging from small service businesses to a $750
million division of a Fortune 500 company.
Prior to Kamylon, Mr. Spencer was a Principal with The George Group, a
consulting firm specializing in operations strategy, operational improvement
(Lean Six Sigma), business simplification and accelerating the new
product/service development process. He was a practice leader and contributor to
the books Conquering Complexity in Your Business and Fast Innovation.
Prior to The George Group, Mr. Spencer was an executive with Capital One, where
he led one of the firm’s most profitable credit card businesses. There he
revamped the business unit’s strategy and marketing plans, implemented a series
of critical infrastructure improvements, growing the business by over 50%. Mr.
Spencer then went on to lead Capital One’s direct mail and outbound
telemarketing operations supporting all of the credit card businesses. There,
his team drove lean process improvement initiatives cutting direct mail
solicitation cycle time by 75% and orchestrated the execution of 1,000
solicitations per year delivering almost one billion mail pieces and 300 million
telemarketing calls annually.
Before Capital One, Mr. Spencer spent over 8 years as a
consultant with McKinsey & Company where he specialized in designing and
implementing broad-based performance improvement programs across a range of
industries. At McKinsey, Mr. Spencer co-led both the lean manufacturing and
supply chain management practices and helped dozens of general managers drive
substantial top and bottom line performance improvement.
Mr. Spencer began his career as a manufacturing engineer and management trainee
at the Rover Group – the largest indigenous automaker in the United Kingdom --
where he helped to implement lean production and rapid cycle product development
at a time when Japanese management techniques were only just beginning to gain
notoriety in the West.
Mr. Spencer holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with First Class
Honors from the Imperial College, University of London and an M.B.A from Harvard
Business School where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
TODD J.
LATOUF
Operating Partner
Mr. Latouf began with Kamylon in 2007 and has more than twenty years of
management and leadership experience contributing to the improved performance
and profitability of automotive parts, plastic, metal, and tool manufacturing
companies. Most recently, Mr. Latouf served as President and C.E.O. of one of
Kamylon’s portfolio companies which was recently acquired by Accuride
Corporation (NYSE: ACW). As an Operating Partner, Mr. Latouf oversees portfolio
company operations and leads key performance improvement initiatives.
Additionally, Mr. Latouf leverages his industry relationship to originate new
investment opportunities, which led to the investment of one of Kamylon’s
portfolio companies.
In earlier positions, Todd was President and Chief Restructuring Officer for
Hallmark Technologies, a Canadian-based automotive manufacturer of precision
tooling and plastic parts. He also served as General Manager of European
Operations and North American Modular Operations for Magna International, a
leading global supplier of technologically-advanced automotive systems. Prior to
his tenure as GM, Todd played a key role in the growth at Magna Closures, a
division of Magna which provides electro- mechanical vehicle closure devices for
the global automotive industry. He also held several other leadership positions
at Magna International, including Director of Program Management.
Todd excels at negotiating complex, multi-million dollar agreements and
delivering customer satisfaction initiatives to improve retention. His
multi-cultural management and etiquette skills have provided the base for his
successful dealings with diverse workforces and customer bases worldwide. In
fact, over his career, he has been responsible for producing more than $9.5
billion in gross revenue that dropped an estimated $1.2 billion to the bottom
line for the firms with which he has been associated, while leading initiatives
that have saved nearly $800 million in operating costs.
Mr. Latouf holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Warren
National University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Windsor, and a
Chemical Engineering Technology Diploma from Saint Clair College. His
professional development includes training in General Management, Negotiation,
Green Belt Certification, and Lean Initiatives. Mr. Latouf is also an active
member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.
KEVIN F. LITTLEJOHN
Partner and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Littlejohn joined Kamylon in 2009 and brings over twenty-five years of
experience in driving strategic financial initiatives across a variety of
private equity, venture capital and hedge fund firms. In his capacity,
Kevin is responsible for the overall fiscal control of the firm, including
financial reporting, cash management, tax compliance and limited partner
reporting. He leads the extensive proprietary financial
reporting system deployed throughout the Kamylon portfolio. He is actively
involved with each of the controllers in developing their annual budgets as
well as the monthly reporting of financial performance. In partnering with
the controllers, Kevin is available to work closely with portfolio companies
on an ad hoc basis to support financial initiatives that arise
throughout the year.
Mr. Littlejohn began his career as a certified public accountant with the
financial services audit practice of Arthur Andersen and then spent seven as
a partner of The Prospect Street Companies, a private equity firm
specializing in leveraged loans and high yield debt. He later served as
Chief Financial Officer of AIG International Asset Management, Inc. a
multi-product hedge fund that managed a wide variety of domestic and
international investment partnerships. Mr. Littlejohn also led the finance
function at Ascent Venture Partners and Polaris Venture Partners, two
prominent venture capital firms in the Boston area. On the operating company
side, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Bankruptcy Management
Solutions, a national provider of management services for the bankruptcy
industry.
Mr. Littlejohn received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Western New
England University and his Masters in Taxation from Bentley University.
MEETA
R. VYAS
Director of Kamylon Performance Improvement
Ms. Vyas brings to Kamylon over 25 years of cross functional
leadership experience ranging from process engineering,
investment evaluation, general management, and consulting to
private equity backed portfolio firms and major non-profits.
Ms. Vyas started her professional career with a BS in Chemical
Engineering from MIT and a MBA in Finance from Columbia
University. After working for Exxon Chemical and the investment
firm Fisher Brothers, she joined McKinsey & Co where she
worked primarily with the firms industrial clients.
Ms. Vyas later joined General Electric where she led a number of
continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing, new product
introduction and supply chain management.
Ms. Vyas later served as General Manager of GE Appliances
Range Products, a $1 Billion division with multiple manufacturing
plants and 2000 employees, where she helped double operating
income over a two year period.
After GE, Ms. Vyas became CEO of Signature Brands (Mr Coffee and
other brands), a $280 million private equity backed consumer
products firm. At Signature Ms. Vyas drove significant operations and
top line initiatives which led to an eventual sale of the firm to
Sunbeam Corporation.
Most recently, Ms. Vyas has held key leadership roles in two
non-profit organizations, the World Wildlife Fund of India and
The National Audubon Society as well as providing consulting
services to a variety of private equity portfolio firms and
non-profit boards.
THOMAS
R. JOHNSON
Director of Human Resources and Talent Management
Mr. Johnson joined Kamylon in 2008 and brings over 20 years experience in driving strategic HR
initiatives across a variety of businesses from start-up entities to global
publicly traded firms. In his role, Mr. Johnson leads our efforts in building Kamylon’s
talent management system with a particular emphasis on attracting, developing
and retaining world class talent throughout Kamylon and its portfolio companies.
Mr. Johnson is also a resource to portfolio companies for advice and counsel on HR and
talent management matters, and assists in establishing best HR practices
throughout the firm and supporting HR related due diligence in our investment
process.
Most recently, Mr. Johnson led the staffing and leadership function at Investment
Technology Group, a leading global provider of equity trading products and
services for the institutional investment markets.
Prior to ITG, Mr. Johnson was Director of Global Staffing and Development for Thermo
Electron Corporation and built a global talent acquisition, development and
succession planning function to support the firm’s evolution from many disparate
operating units to an integrated operating company.
Mr. Johnson has also held a number of strategic HR roles at Nortel Networks, focusing
largely on building high performing teams across the R&D, Manufacturing, Sales
and Service functions. Mr. Johnson earned his BA at Harvard College and MBA at Boston
University.
DAVID
A. SOPP
Partner
Mr. Sopp joined Kamylon Capital in 2007. He has more than
fifteen years of private equity experience including his time with Kamylon. Mr.
Sopp is responsible for the evaluation and execution of investments, leading and
participating in the due diligence processes for three of Kamylon’s
acquisitions. He arranges debt financing for Kamylon’s transactions, and he
leads the capital market activities for all of Kamylon’s portfolio companies.
Mr. Sopp serves on the Board of one of Kamylon’s portfolio companies.
Prior to Kamylon, Mr. Sopp was a Principal with Capital Resource Partners, a private
capital firm that invests preferred equity and subordinated debt into
later-stage growth, buyout and recapitalization transactions, where he
originated and closed transactions for the firm, resulting in the investment of
$140 million of capital in seven companies. Mr. Sopp played an active role as a
board member for six of CRP’s portfolio companies, and he helped raise CRP’s
fifth fund in 2003. Prior to CRP, Mr. Sopp was an Associate with HarbourVest
Partners, a global private equity firm with more than $20 billion of assets
under management, where he identified and recommended high growth transactions
leading to approximately $70 million of equity invested in nine companies. Mr.
Sopp began his career as an Analyst with ABS Capital Partners where he managed
the due diligence processes that resulted in the investment of more than $80
million of equity in ten companies.
JEFFREY
A. SINNETT
Partner
Mr. Sinnett joined Kamylon in 2005 and is responsible for the evaluation and
execution of investments at Kamylon. Mr. Sinnett has participated in the
execution and evaluation of each of Kamylon’s investments and has led the due
diligence process of three transactions. He played a key role in designing the
firm’s origination process and building its origination team and serves on the
Board of three portfolio companies. Most recently, Mr. Sinnett led the
definitive documentation process for Kamylon’s first realization.
Prior to joining Kamylon full-time in 2006, Mr. Sinnett position traded his own
capital in equities and equity derivatives. Earlier in his career, he was a
technical sales executive with both AT&T and Qwest Communications, where he
managed a $15 million annual revenue portfolio of Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Sinnett holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from DePaul
University and an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of
Business.

JASON BRAUER
Principal
Mr. Brauer’s primary responsibilities at Kamylon are the
evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities. Most recently, Mr.
Brauer played an integral role in originating, evaluating and closing the firm’s
latest platform investment. Since joining Kamylon in 2008, Mr. Brauer has also
led the development and standardization of several of the firm’s evaluation
systems and procedures, to include Kamylon’s long-form investment model.
Prior to joining Kamylon, Mr. Brauer worked in the Leveraged Buyout Group of Morgenthaler
Partners, a middle-market private equity firm with $2.9 billion of assets under
management. Previously, Mr. Brauer was an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company
where he conducted strategic due diligence for private equity firms and managed
client relationships on engagements for Fortune 1000 companies. Additionally,
Mr. Brauer served as Captain in the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Brauer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colgate University and an
M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
JOHN
Trey L. LEE, III
Associate Principal
Since joining Kamylon in 2007, Mr. Lee has played key roles in the execution of three
of Kamylon’s investments and led the firm’s first exit. Mr. Lee sources,
evaluates and executes new investment opportunities, while co-leading
fundraising efforts and providing critical support to portfolio companies.
Additionally during his tenure, Mr. Lee has played roles on the boards of two
portfolio companies and has led Kamylon’s origination practice.
Mr. Lee began his professional career as a signed recording artist and
songwriter for a Nashville-based music publishing company. Mr. Lee’s musical
career boasts achievements such as platinum-selling album credits and tour
support for Willie Nelson.
Immediately prior to joining Kamylon, Mr. Lee served as a financial consultant
to a Southeastern-based franchise during the company’s launch and initial
expansion phase. Formerly, Mr. Lee served under the president of Carson
Advisory, a member firm of the Raymond James Financial Services network.
A summa cum laude in Finance, Mr. Lee earned a Bachelor of Business
Administration from the Terry School of Business at the University of Georgia.
JEFFREY
M. PARÉ
Associate Principal
Mr. Paré is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investments. Prior to joining Kamylon, Mr. Paré was a manager in the Global Supply Chain group at Houghton Mifflin company, where he helped design and implement the company’s outsourcing strategy, both domestically and offshore. Before Houghton Mifflin, Mr. Paré worked as a Senior Associate at BancBoston Capital, the multi-strategy private equity investing arm of FleetBoston Financial with $4.5 billion of assets under management. At BancBoston Capital, Mr. Paré focused on buyout equity and mezzanine debt investments ranging on average from $5 to 20 million in middle market companies, with a particular focus on transactions in the restaurant industry.
Previously, Mr. Paré was an Associate Analyst in Advest’s Specialty Retailing and Consumer Products group, performing sell-side research on equities in the automotive aftermarket and the licensed collectible spaces. Prior to Advest, Mr. Paré spent several years at BankBoston, where he helped form a specialized lending group focusing on acquisition finance and equity-sponsored transactions in the automotive industry. Mr. Paré served as a portfolio manager specializing in highly leveraged consolidators in the OEM supplier segment.
Mr. Paré graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics and Economics from Middlebury College and holds an M.B.A. from Tuck School at Dartmouth where he was a research fellow at the school’s Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurship.
IGOR BARSHTEYN
Information Technology Systems Administrator
Mr. Barshteyn serves Kamylon in both a project management and technical role
as director of Kamylon's I.T. operations. He oversees the purchase,
assembly, and configuration of workstations, servers, and other network
infrastructure. He has also authored or co-authored various policies and
procedures, and negotiated service level agreements with vendors. Mr.
Barshteyn plays an important role in portfolio company operations,
performing I.T. audits, infrastructure upgrades, and ground-up establishment
of new facilities and infrastructure. He also assists Kamylon's investment
professionals during due dilligence procedures by answering technical
questions and offering industry-related news and advice.
Before joining Kamylon, Mr. Barshteyn served as a network support
associate at the Appalachian Mountain Club’s headquarters in Boston.
Mr. Barshteyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brandeis
University, along with a number of professional certifications across
various industries.
KAREN L. ALLAN
Office Administrator
Prior to joining Kamylon Capital in 2007, Ms. Allan held
positions in office administration with Bowdoin Construction
Corporation, Home Depot USA, Inc. and Ludlow Laminating &
Coating.
